Data Pump in Oracle

 Data Pump in Oracle

Data Pump is a feature in Oracle Database that allows you to export and import data and metadata between databases. Data Pump can be used to move data between different instances of Oracle Database, or to backup and restore data.

Here is an example of using Data Pump to export a table:

expdp hr/hr DIRECTORY=dpump_dir1 DUMPFILE=hr_emp.dmp TABLES=employees

This statement uses Data Pump to export the "employees" table owned by the "hr" user to a file named "hr_emp.dmp" in the "dpump_dir1" directory. The dump file can be used to import the data into another database using the impdp command.
